The Seattle Seahawks are strengthening both their secondary and special teams with a fresh addition to the roster. According to Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz, a defensive back has signed a one-year deal with the team. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022, following an unconventional collegiate career that saw him play at four different schools before earning his shot with the Cleveland Browns. Despite these challenges, He made a notable impression in Cleveland—securing a spot on the roster and starting seven games at safety over three seasons—while also carving out an important role on special teams.
Last season, D’Anthony Bell appeared in all 17 games for the Browns, logging 9 percent of the team’s defensive snaps. His contributions on special teams were even more significant, as he participated in 85 percent of those plays, showcasing his reliability and versatility. This dual role not only highlights his athletic ability but also emphasizes the value he brings to any team he joins.
Now, joining the Seahawks, Bell will face stiff competition to earn a long-term spot on the roster. However, his proven experience in both the defensive backfield and on special teams suggests he has a solid chance to secure a role. If he makes the team, his impact is expected to be felt across multiple areas—from providing additional depth in the secondary to contributing crucial plays on special teams, particularly in the kicking game. This move adds another layer to Seattle’s strategic efforts to build a more robust and versatile roster as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
