JUST IN: Washington Pulls Off Another Major Portal Win, Lands Highly Sought-After 5-Star

The star, who spent his freshman season with the Indiana Hoosiers, is staying within the Big Ten landscape but taking his talents to the Washington Huskies, according to several reports.

Per college basketball insider Jeff Goodman, Washington has secured a much-needed wing addition with the commitment of the 5-star. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 200 pounds, he brings length, versatility, and a high ceiling to a Huskies team that continues to be aggressive in the transfer portal.

In his lone season at Indiana under head coach Mike Woodson, he has averaged 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists across 16 minutes per game. He shot 37.8% from the field (48-of-127), although his three-point shooting lagged behind at 15%.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, he was a McDonald’s All-American and one of the top recruits in the 2024 class. He began his high school career at Mount Saint Joseph before transferring to Florida powerhouse IMG Academy for his junior season. He was widely regarded as a five-star prospect, ranked No. 20 nationally by the On3 Industry Ranking and No. 28 overall by 247Sports, which rated him a four-star recruit.

Coming out of high school, Bryson Tucker received scholarship offers from several top-tier programs including Kansas, Duke, Michigan State, Florida, Miami, LSU, and others.

Tucker entered the transfer portal this offseason as part of a mass exodus from Indiana, joining fellow Hoosiers Gabe Cupps, Malik Reneau, Mackenzie Mgbako, Jakai Newton, Myles Rice, and Kanaan Carlyle — the latter of whom remains undecided, reportedly considering schools like McNeese State, Florida Gulf Coast, UAB, and Florida Atlantic.

Now with Washington, Tucker will have three full seasons of eligibility remaining and is expected to be a key piece in head coach Danny Sprinkle’s system as the team builds toward a competitive Big Ten campaign.

The Huskies continue to stay busy in the portal, having already added key transfers such as Tayton Conerway (Troy), Jasai Miles (North Florida), Lamar Wilkerson (Sam Houston), Reed Bailey (Davidson), Tucker DeVries (West Virginia via Drake), and Conor Enright (DePaul/Drake). Tucker adds both prestige and potential to a revamped Washington roster.
