JUST IN: Vikings Great in Hot Water After Late-Night Incident — Details Emerging

Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson was arrested early Friday in Minnesota and faces a fourth-degree DWI charge, according to Hennepin County sheriff records.

Peterson had attended the Minnesota Vikings’ public draft event at U.S. Bank Stadium on Thursday night. He was taken into custody at 5:16 a.m. CT and released on $4,000 bail by 7:31 a.m. CT.

The charge is classified as a misdemeanor, with Peterson due back in court on May 9 in Minneapolis.

State Patrol Lt. Mike Lee told the Minnesota Star Tribune that a trooper clocked Peterson driving 83 mph in a 55-mph zone. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol level of 0.14%, well over Minnesota’s legal limit of 0.08%.

This incident adds to a history of controversies involving Peterson, including prior allegations of domestic violence, child abuse, and financial troubles.

Now 40 years old, Peterson was drafted seventh overall by the Vikings in 2007 and played ten seasons with the team before leaving after 2017. He later played for several other teams, including the Saints, Cardinals, Commanders, Lions, Titans, and Seahawks, last appearing in an NFL game in 2021.
