JUST IN : Shockingly NFL Draft 5 Virginia Tech Gifted Stars on Draft Day!

With less than a month to go until the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, several former Virginia Tech players are expected to hear their names called over the course of the three-day event. While a few could push their way into a Day 2 selection, the more likely scenario is hearing their names on Day 3.

Regardless of when they are drafted, these players are ready to take the next step and make an impact at the professional level. Now that the NFL Combine and Pro Days have wrapped up, mock drafts are becoming more frequent. The latest projection from the College Football Network features five Virginia Tech players being selected in Wisconsin.

Five Hokies Featured in Latest Mock Draft

In its most recent mock draft, the College Football Network projects five Hokies being drafted in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds later this month. The first Virginia Tech player off the board is cornerback Dorian Strong, predicted to go 73rd overall in the third round to the New York Jets—right around where many analysts expect him to be selected.

In the fourth round, two Hokies defensive linemen are projected to go back-to-back, with edge rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland landing at No. 133 with the Kansas City Chiefs, followed by Aeneas Peebles at No. 134 to the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams would offer strong opportunities for the players to develop at the next level.

The fifth round sees wide receiver Jaylin Lane joining Strong with the Jets at No. 145, while running back Bhayshul Tuten is projected to go 166th to the Houston Texans. Tuten’s draft position may be a bit lower than expected, considering his strong pre-draft performances, including an eye-catching showing at the Combine. Given his potential, it wouldn’t be surprising if a team in need of a versatile running back selects him a round earlier.
