The Boston Celtics are in control of their first-round playoff series, holding a 3-1 lead over the Orlando Magic. With a roster featuring Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Kristaps Porzingis, Boston remains one of the NBA’s most star-studded teams. However, ahead of Tuesday’s Game 5, injury concerns have emerged.
Jaylen Brown has been listed as questionable with a right knee posterior impingement. Brown has suited up for all four games so far, averaging 23 points per contest against Orlando. In Boston’s Game 4 victory, he tallied 21 points, 11 rebounds, and an assist. Over the regular season, Brown posted averages of 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Jrue Holiday has officially been ruled out for Game 5 due to a right hamstring strain. Holiday’s absence, coupled with Brown’s uncertain status, poses a significant challenge for head coach Joe Mazzulla as the Celtics aim to close out the series.
Despite Brown’s current injury designation, it’s worth noting he was listed on the injury report before Game 4 and still played. Game 5 tips off Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET at TD Garden.
