JUST IN: Arizona Wildcats Land Commitment from Another Physically Gifted, Highly Sought-After 5-Star Who Chose Arizona over Tennessee, Alabama, Oregon, and USC.

Arizona basketball continues to bolster its impressive 2025 recruiting class with the addition of a five-star guard , who officially committed. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound combo guard is widely regarded as one of the top talents in the class and brings a dynamic skill set to the Wildcats.

The star, ranked No. 11 nationally in the 2025 recruiting cycle, stood out on the Nike EYBL circuit last summer, averaging 21.1 points per game on an efficient 48.1% shooting. He played alongside fellow Arizona commit Bryce James — son of NBA legend LeBron James — giving Wildcat fans a glimpse of the future duo’s potential chemistry on the court.

The Southern California product chose Arizona over powerhouse programs including Tennessee, Alabama, Oregon, and USC. His decision comes not long after his McDonald’s All-American teammate, Koa Peat, a dominant forward out of Gilbert Perry High School, committed to Arizona on March 27. Both Burries and Peat were among the last remaining uncommitted top-15 players in the class. Notably, all three of Arizona’s headlining recruits — Burries, Peat, and James — are represented by Klutch Sports, the agency founded by LeBron James’ longtime friend and business partner Rich Paul.

Brayden Burries commits to Arizona for 2025

What Burries Brings to Arizona

With veteran guard Caleb Love exhausting his eligibility and Jaden Bradley likely returning, Burries is expected to immediately compete for minutes and contribute in multiple roles. He offers valuable shot creation and can function both as a primary scorer and as a playmaker.

Adam Finkelstein of 247 Sports describes Burries as a versatile and physically tough guard who thrives on both ends of the floor. Though primarily known for his scoring ability, Burries is a willing passer with good court awareness and a dependable handle. His flexibility allows him to shift between on-ball and off-ball duties, potentially forming a strong backcourt pairing with Bradley.

In addition to his offensive skills, Burries is also a strong rebounder for his position and brings intensity on the defensive end. While not the quickest laterally, he compensates with physicality, effort, and competitiveness.

A Top-Tier Recruiting Class

With Burries now on board, Arizona’s 2025 recruiting class climbs to No. 5 in the national rankings and stands as the second-best class among Big 12 programs. The Wildcats have clearly positioned themselves as one of the premier destinations for elite talent, and with the likes of Burries, Peat, and James headlining the incoming group, expectations will be high in Tucson moving forward.
