Injury-prone players – Luton Town pundit slams owners over signing of clubs legend.

Luton Town pundit Simon Mills has criticized the club’s ownership for its recruitment strategy, particularly the signing of a winger last summer. He joined the club on a free transfer from Spartak Moscow and has made 18 league appearances, scoring one goal. However, he has struggled recently and has not been included in the matchday squad for the last seven league games. Along with other underperforming summer signings,

Moses’ struggles have contributed to Luton’s precarious position at the bottom of the table.

With just 28 points from 34 league games, Luton are five points behind safety, raising concerns about relegation.

Mills believes the club’s transfer decisions have played a major role in their struggles this season and called on the owners to rethink their approach, particularly avoiding injury-prone players in the future. Speaking to Football League World, Mills expressed his frustration with the club’s transfer activity and urged a return to a more disciplined recruitment strategy.

“My main message to the club’s owners is to wake up and reassess the strategies they’ve been using for transfers over the past two years. Stop taking chances on injury-prone players. We need to focus on what helped us succeed before, which wasn’t the free-flowing attacking football that never materialized, but being strong defensively, dominant in the air, and intimidating opponents,” Mills said.

As the season nears its end, Luton Town faces a tough battle to avoid relegation.
