When it comes to recruiting, everything can change in an instant, and unfortunately for Alabama football, that shift isn’t in their favor. Just a week ago, things seemed to be trending positively for head coach Kalen DeBoer in the pursuit of five-star wide receiver.
After an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa, Feaster had nothing but praise for Alabama, and multiple recruiting analysts believed the Crimson Tide had surged to the top of his list. However, his recent visit to LSU has completely altered the landscape.
Over the weekend, Feaster, who is rated as a five-star prospect by Rivals and a four-star by both On3 and 247Sports, took an unofficial trip to Baton Rouge. The visit went so well that respected recruiting insiders Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong have now predicted that LSU head coach Brian Kelly will land the coveted receiver.
For Alabama fans, this development is far from ideal. Feaster initially belonged to the 2027 recruiting class before reclassifying to 2026, where he quickly established himself as one of the top wideouts in the nation. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 6 receiver and the No. 46 overall player in the country. Holding an impressive 50 scholarship offers, Feaster is a highly sought-after talent.
Later this month, he is scheduled to visit Texas to meet with head coach Steve Sarkisian, and he has also lined up a late April visit to Oregon to meet Dan Lanning. However, with Simmons and Wiltfong now projecting Feaster to commit to LSU, that could shift his recruitment further in the Tigers’ favor.
After a challenging season for Alabama, landing Feaster was seen as a crucial step in building momentum for the 2026 recruiting class. Losing him to an SEC rival, particularly after what seemed like a promising visit to Alabama, would be a tough blow for DeBoer and his staff.
