END OF JOURNEY: A vital player of the Florida State has just commits to Oregon’s transfer portal.

With the acquisition of former Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Malik Benson, Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks made yet another splash in the transfer portal this summer.

Prior to committing to the Alabama Crimson Tide for the 2023 season, Benson was the country’s top-ranked JUCO player. After that, he made the decision to transfer for the 2024 season to Florida State.

Benson has caught 38 receptions for 473 yards and two scores over his two years in the NCAA. Benson, who is 6 feet 1 inch and weighs 195 pounds, is a formidable physical threat and may contribute some experience to a young wide receiver group in Eugene.

The Ducks decided to add another playmaker on the outside since both Traeshon Holden and Tez Johnson were graduating. The signing of Benson is a significant boost to the Ducks’ receiving corps while we wait for Evan Stewart to decide whether or not to declare for the NFL Draft.

Oregon will enter 2025 with a number of promising but somewhat inexperienced players, including Kyler Kasper, Justius Lowe, Jurrion Dickey, Jeremiah McClellan, and true freshman Dakorien Moore, in addition to Benson and possibly Stewart.
