Chargers Officially Make Huge Announcement After Meeting Arizona Physically Gifted Star- Another Valuable Addition to The Team’s Roster.

As the 2025 NFL Draft nears its final two weeks, more reports are emerging about the Chargers’ meetings with potential draft picks. This morning, Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network reported that the team plans to meet later this week with Arizona running back

Following that, FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz indicated that Croskey-Merritt is actually the second Arizona player the Chargers have connected with. According to Schultz, they’ve already met with star wide receiver and projected first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan.

In his report, Schultz quoted an executive from a 2024 playoff team who had high praise for McMillan: “He’s got true star-level tools and elite production. Everyone in our building loves him. There’s no way he’ll fall to us.” Some online speculation suggests the Chargers may be the only playoff team in Schultz’s reference, though that hasn’t been confirmed.

McMillan would be an ideal draft pick for the Chargers. He recorded 84 catches for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns in his final college season. Known for his size and elite catching ability, he poses a serious threat downfield. He posted a 60% contested catch rate and earned an impressive 89.1 grade from PFF against man coverage — among the best in this draft class.

Arizona RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt shines at Big 12 Pro Day

There’s been some debate about his speed since he skipped testing at the NFL Combine. At his pro day, he ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash but didn’t participate in agility or explosiveness drills, leaving him without a Relative Athletic Score.

Still, McMillan shows more than enough speed on film for his role. He may not be a speedster, but his style of play doesn’t require it.

NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently projected McMillan to the Chargers at pick No. 22 and ranked him 18th overall in the class. Personally, I rank him as the second-best receiver in the draft, behind only 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.

We’ll have to wait and see how things shake out on draft night. But if McMillan slides near pick 22, the Chargers could seriously consider moving up, especially with 10 total selections at their disposal.
