Washington’s campus buzzes with anticipation as the clock ticks down to Junior Day. Rumors keep going round and expectations run high, with top recruits poised to descend on the stadium—each one shows the potential to reshape the future of the program. Among the most intriguing prospects is five-star receiver, already committed to Georgia yet set to test the waters in Washington.
Washington’s Junior Day is just around the corner, and excitement is building as the campus prepares to welcome a slew of top-tier recruits. This highly anticipated event will showcase a highly-rated quarterback and several standout running backs, while also drawing in three wide receivers who are already committed to other power programs. Among the visitors is four-star receiver Vance Spafford, who, despite his commitment to Georgia, is expected to make his presence felt on campus. Joining Spafford are his St. John Bosco (CA) teammates, Daniel Odom and Madden Williams—both four-star prospects. Odom is pledged to Oklahoma, and Williams is committed to Texas A&M, and both are scheduled to visit Washington on March 8th and 9th.
Vance Spafford, a standout from Mission Viejo High School in California, is considered one of the top 10 wide receivers in the class of 2026 by 247Sports, ranking as the number 61 overall recruit and one of the best in his state. He initially committed to Georgia in November of last year, but his talent has since attracted interest from top programs like USC, Alabama, and Colorado. On the field, his speed is his trademark—turning heads with his ability to blaze past defenders. As a junior, Spafford recorded over 1,000 receiving yards on 57 catches and scored 15 touchdowns, in addition to making his mark on special teams by blocking two punts. His sophomore season in 2023 saw him achieve career highs in every category, with 22 touchdowns, 83 receptions, and 1,576 receiving yards. With a personal best 100-meter dash time of 10.69 seconds, his explosive speed makes him an ideal candidate for a slot receiver role, a position that fits perfectly with the dynamic style of the Husky offense.
As Washington aims to leverage the momentum of Junior Day, the coaching staff is determined to influence these high-caliber athletes—especially Spafford—despite their current commitments elsewhere.
