Alabama Crimson Tide standout quarterback has officially entered the NFL ranks, signing his rookie contract with the Seattle Seahawks following his selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. The team and he have agreed to terms on a four-year contract valued at $6.26 million, which includes a $1.19 million signing bonus, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Seahawks selected him with the No. 92 overall pick in the third round, adding a promising dual-threat quarterback to their offensive arsenal. A native of Katy, Texas, he started two seasons at Alabama and showcased elite athleticism, strong leadership, and a knack for explosive plays. His 2024 season was particularly impressive, as he racked up 3,570 total yards and accounted for 36 touchdowns, including 20 rushing scores—a career high—solidifying his reputation as one of college football’s most electric playmakers.
His blend of speed, power, and poise under pressure made him a difficult matchup for SEC defenses, and now he aims to translate that skill set to the NFL. Known for his deep ball accuracy and ability to extend plays with his legs, the 6-foot-2 quarterback brings a dynamic dimension to Seattle’s offense that has been missing in recent years.

As a rookie, Jalen Milroe will begin his NFL journey learning behind veteran quarterback Sam Darnold, who is expected to open the season as the starter. Under the guidance of second-year head coach Mike Macdonald, the Seahawks hope to gradually integrate Milroe into the offense while allowing him time to adjust to the speed and complexity of the professional game.
Seattle’s coaching staff has expressed excitement about Milroe’s potential, pointing to his leadership, competitiveness, and proven ability to perform in high-pressure environments as assets that will benefit the team long term. His work ethic and upside suggest he could be a key figure in the Seahawks’ future plans at the quarterback position.
For now, Milroe will focus on acclimating to Seattle’s system, learning from Darnold and the coaching staff, and proving that his electric college performances were just the beginning of what could be a promising NFL career.
