The Boston Celtics recently had a scare when superstar Jayson Tatum injured his ankle during a road win against the Sacramento Kings. Fortunately, the injury doesn’t seem too serious, and there’s even a possibility Tatum could play in the Celtics’ upcoming game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.

In recent months, some NBA fans have started calling Tatum “The Anomaly” because of his impressive skills, like his mobility and ball-handling abilities at 6’10”. Tatum addressed this nickname on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, sharing his candid thoughts.
“Twitter is not a real place, I’ll say that,” Tatum joked, according to CelticsUnite on X.
The nickname “The Anomaly” has occasionally been used by rival fanbases in a playful or trolling manner, including the Atlanta Hawks’ social media account. After a win in Boston earlier this season, the Hawks tweeted, “2 Wins in 2 trips here this season… that’s no anomaly.”
