BREAKING: Hokies Fans in Panic as Team Confirms Devastating Transfer Bombshell.

A few weeks have passed since the Virginia Tech men’s season ended, and the team has already seen five players enter the transfer portal. For the second consecutive year, head coach Mike Young faces the challenge of reconstructing the roster for the upcoming season.

With multiple roster spots to fill, Young is expected to take an aggressive approach in this transfer window, backed by a larger NIL budget. Last week, he made a statement on the Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball X account, reaffirming his commitment to quickly turning the program around.

The number of players entering the transfer portal continues to grow daily, giving schools like Virginia Tech a broad pool of talent to choose from. Several players have already been linked to the Hokies, and here are three notable prospects.

Robert McCray V – Jacksonville

Virginia Tech is familiar with Jacksonville guard Robert McCray V, as he played a key role in the Dolphins’ 74-64 victory over the Hokies in November. That game was one of the team’s toughest non-conference losses, with McCray posting 17 points, four rebounds, and eight assists.

This season, the talented guard averaged 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while playing nearly 30 minutes per contest. McCray’s ability to handle the ball and create scoring opportunities would make him a strong backcourt addition alongside Ben Hammond and a playmaker for Jaden Schutt. He is a name to watch in the transfer portal.

Kezza Giffa – High Point

Another player generating buzz in the transfer portal is High Point’s Kezza Giffa, a Paris, France native who helped

lead his team to the NCAA Tournament this past season. He averaged 14.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, showcasing his scoring and playmaking skills.

In the first-round matchup against Purdue, Giffa contributed eight points, three assists, and three rebounds in High Point’s loss. With just one year of eligibility left, Giffa has drawn interest from multiple programs, but he would be an excellent fit in the Virginia Tech backcourt.

Themus Fulks – Milwaukee

Another potential target is Milwaukee’s Themus Fulks, a well-rounded playmaker with one year of eligibility remaining. Fulks put up 14.6 points, three rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, making him a strong candidate for a team looking to add a dynamic scoring threat.

Fulks has had a well-traveled college career, previously playing at South Carolina State and Louisiana before transferring to Milwaukee. He thrived in the Horizon League, significantly improving his stats this past season. Like McCray, he is a versatile offensive player who can score at the rim, shoot from distance, and distribute the ball effectively.

Hokies Face Tough Competition in the Portal

While all three players would be valuable additions, securing their commitments won’t be easy. Each is a sought-after prospect in the transfer portal, and Young will need to make a strong pitch to bring them to Blacksburg. With a deep pool of available talent, Virginia Tech has plenty of options, but the competition will be fierce as programs nationwide look to reload for next season.
