BREAKING: Georgia Bulldogs Confirm Departure of Another Highly Experienced Superstar—Shocking Exit Stuns Fans

The Superstar’s decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft has been one of the most significant developments in Georgia football’s summer. He spent his first two years of college at Florida before coming to Georgia this season, so he had another year of eligibility to use, but he eventually decided it was time to move on to the NFL.

Trevor Etienne now faces the 2025 NFL Combine, where he will have a lot to prove after a strong season in Athens. Etienne definitely has the talent, but he did suffer some injuries this season, which could affect his draft stock with some NFL teams.

Etienne will work out alongside wide outs Arian Smith and Dominic Lovett at the Combine on Saturday, but he spoke with reporters on Friday to explain why he decided to leave Georgia for the NFL this summer.

“I mean, I feel like I was ready to take this next step in life,” Etienne told si.com. “Come out and show these NFL Scouts who I am, show that what kind of person I am, show that I’m ready to take this next step in life.”

Etienne was ready for the NFL

Etienne later went on to discuss how he thought he accomplished and demonstrated what he needed to in college to feel confident about moving on to the NFL. So winning the SEC Championship with Georgia this past season may have been enough for him to feel prepared to move on to the NFL after such a remarkable performance.

It’s sad that Etienne chose not to return, as he would have given Georgia one of the top backfields in the NCAA alongside Nate Frazier, but it’s difficult to be disappointed with anyone for pursuing their ambitions. It will be interesting to watch how he performs at the Combine and which team decides to take a chance on him, as there are certainly several other teams that could benefit from Etienne’s skillset.
