BLOCKBUSTER: Cooper Flagg Leaves Fans Speechless with Stunning Draft Move to Unexpected NBA Team

An unexpected NBA team has emerged as a top landing spot for Cooper Flagg, the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, according to a respected league insider.

While Flagg, Duke’s standout freshman, is widely expected to be taken first overall, the team that will win the draft lottery remains uncertain. The Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, and Utah Jazz each currently hold a 14% chance of securing the top pick, though several other teams could rise due to the draft’s unpredictable nature.

In a recent segment on CBS Sports’ HQ Spotlight, NBA analyst Kyle Boone pointed to the Philadelphia 76ers as the ideal destination for Flagg.

“I’d choose the 76ers—and for good reason,” Boone explained. “They’ve built an exciting young core. Jared McCain was playing well before his injury, Tyrese Maxey continues to thrive, and Quentin Grimes has impressed since arriving midseason. Adding Flagg would be a perfect new chapter in the story of ‘The Process.’ While Joel Embiid’s health is uncertain, this youthful roster would thrive with someone like Flagg.”

Philadelphia’s 2024–25 season was a disappointment. Despite signing Paul George to a max contract, injuries to both George and Embiid led to a disappointing 24–58 finish—fifth worst in the league.

Even so, the Sixers are not in full rebuild mode. They have promising pieces in McCain, Maxey, Grimes, and Adem Bona, and Flagg could accelerate a rapid turnaround. With a 10.5% chance at the No. 1 pick, Philly may be an underdog—but if they land Flagg, their postseason prospects could take a major leap.
