SO SAD: Three UCF knights key players has officially announce their departure due to…

Three more UCF football players plan to redshirt and enter the transfer portal

Senior defensive back William Wells, sophomore defensive end Kaven Call and redshirt senior offensive lineman Wes Dorsey plan to redshirt and enter the NCAA transfer portal, Assistant Athletics Director of Strategic Communications, Justin Wilson said via text message Saturday.

Wells has played in 33 games at UCF but never started a game for the Knights. The defensive back has made 28 total tackles with seven being assisted, a sack and a forced fumble. Wells only recorded three solo tackles this season for UCF.

Call might be the most interesting name to leave UCF out of the three players. Call was a highly touted recruit out of Apopka High School. He was a three-star prospect and named the top prospect in the Orlando Sentinel’s Super 60 for 2023.

Call has recorded just three total tackles for UCF in 16 games played for the Knights, with two of those tackles coming this season.

Dorsey transferred from Western Kentucky to UCF this past spring. He has one more year of eligibility left.

Under NCAA rules, players can play up to four regular-season games without them counting toward their four years of eligibility. The transfer portal opens up for football on Dec. 9.
