Georgia Football: Texas Fans Rip Bulldogs For Alarming Off-Field Issues Ahead of Top 5 SEC Tilt
Georgia football could very well win their third national title in four years this season. The Georgia Bulldogs will have a perfect chance to entrench their positioning in the College Football Playoff with a win over the top-ranked Texas Longhorns on Saturday. However, they will have to travel to Austin, Texas, and play in front of a 100,119-capacity stadium when they face Texas this weekend. The Texas faithful are already geared up to battle Georgia, evident by the liveliness of the campus ahead of College Gameday and the top-five tilt. Longhorns fans are going as far as calling out the Bulldogs for their legal issues since the end of the 2022 season
One UT frat house displays Georgia football’s crime statistics ahead of Saturday’s epic matchup. Georgia has had over 30 arrests or citations for reckless driving since they won their second national title under head coach Kirby Smart in January of 2023.
According to Old Row Sports, the Texas Longhorns fandom is not taking it easy on Georgia football ahead of their inaugural SEC clash this weekend:
Since 2023, Georgia football has made multiple headlines for all the wrong reasons. Since the deaths of Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy from a high-speed race, Georgia has added 30 counts of arrests or citations for reckless driving. The Georgia Bulldogs have also dealt with other legal issues, including wide receiver Colbie Young being arrested for battery and assault on an unborn child earlier this season.
Head coach Kirby Smart has since denounced his team’s off-field actions but believes the program has the proper practices to curb legal issues. Georgia football will visit Texas this weekend as a 4.5-point underdog. Georgia has not lost a regular season game against a non-Alabama Crimson Tide opponent since 2020.
