Wednesday injury report: Latest on Jared Brown, DeAndre Jule

South Carolina wide receiver Jared Brown and defensive tackle DeAndre Jules have been ruled out for this Saturday’s matchup with Oklahoma and will miss the second straight week of action, according to the SEC’s first official availability report of the week which came out Wednesday night.

Right tackle Cason Henry, who exited the game early against Alabama, is listed as “probable” but Shane Beamer said earlier this week that Henry and Jatavius Shivers would continue to compete this week after Shivers played well in Henry’s stead last week. They are listed as co-starters on this week’s depth chart.

The report also lists reserve freshman defensive backs Jalewis Solomon and Kelvin Hunter as “out” again, while reserve receiver Payton Mangrum is questionable.

Brown appeared to be emerging as one of South Carolina’s top receiving threats earlier this year only to suffer a lower-body injury late in the first half against LSU.

The transfer from Coastal Carolina missed the Akron game the week after then returned for the Ole Miss matchup only to have to leave that game early and miss the Alabama game.

Jules exited the Ole Miss game early and then did not play versus the Crimson Tide.

Earlier this week Beamer said that veteran offensive lineman Jakai Moore was “doubtful” to play for the Gamecocks this year. He’s officially listed as “out” on Wednesday’s report.

Meanwhile in Oklahoma, top Sooners wide receiver Deion Burks is listed as “questionable” and head coach Brent Venables did not seem confident earlier this week that he’d be available saying he was trying “to defy all odds” to play against the Gamecocks.
