With a couple of years of eligibility remaining, former Texas WR Johntay Cook II has transferred to Washington in the Big Ten.
Per 247Sports’ Mike Roach, former Texas football sophomore wide receiver transfer Johntay Cook II has committed to the Washington Huskies. The South Dallas native Cook will be taking his talents to the PNW with two years of eligibility remaining.

Cook spent two seasons at Texas. He played eight games in the 2024 season, registering eight catches on 10 targets for 137 receiving yards and a career-high two touchdown catches
Both of Cook’s touchdown catches this fall came against the UTSA Roadrunners in a 56-7 non-conference win for the Longhorns at DKR on Sep. 14.
The last game Cook played at Texas this season was in the Red River Rivalry game on Oct. 12 against the Oklahoma Sooners. And the last game where he caught a pass for the Longhorns was the SEC opener in late September against Mississippi State.
During his true freshman campaign in 2023, Cook had eight receptions on a dozen targets, with 136 receiving yards and no touchdowns over 14 games played. He also had one punt return for a fair catch as a freshman.
