Toronto Maple Leafs have re-signed their best goaltender who was

The Allen Americans have re-signed goalie Marco Costantini for the 2024-25 season. Costantini began the 2023-24 season with the Knoxville Ice Bears in the SPHL before moving on to the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL, where he recorded three saves against the Allen Americans before returning to Knoxville. On January 15th, Costantini signed with the Americans and spent the remainder of the season in Allen, making 24 appearances, going 13-6-1 with a 3.19 GAA,.913SV%, and one shutout. He went 1-1-1 with a 3.70 GAA and.895SV% in three games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Prior to the 2023-24 season, the Ontario native played four seasons in the OHL with the Hamilton Bulldogs and Kitchener Rangers, compiling a 65-41-15 record with a 3.18 GAA,.898SV%, and 10 shutouts. He won an OHL title with the Bulldogs in 2022, posting a 31-9-4 record with a 2.32 GAA,.917SV%, and six shutouts; he topped the OHL in GAA, SV%, and shutouts that year.

As the Americans prepare for the 2024-25 season, they will have a new head coach and a new NHL affiliate, which will be announced shortly. The Americans clearly liked what they s.aw from Costantini last year, which is why they opted to bring him back. The 21-year-old goalie was one of six goaltenders that appeared in the Americans’ net last season and led the club in wins. I expect Constantini to play a much larger part for the Americans next year, with a chance to be the team’s starter, especially since two of the six goaltenders from last year were on NHL contracts
