Pittsburgh — The Philadelphia Phillies’ regular-season schedule for 2025 was revealed on Thursday. Here it is in full.

Here are a few early takeaways as the Phillies resume their 2024 season on Friday night against the Pirates.

Citizens Bank Park South celebrates Opening Day.

During the Phillies’ most recent period of supremacy, from the late 2000s to the early 2010s, Nationals Park was renamed Citizens Bank Park South. It irritated Nationals executives to the point where the team only offered tickets to a May 2012 series in D.C. to credit card customers with DMV billing addresses.

The Nationals may have to do it again to avoid another Phillies takeover in the first series. Opening Day versus Washington on March 27 will be a lot of fun, especially because it is the Phillies’ first meaningful game since winning the World Series.

A better home-away balance

To the chagrin of Phillies executives, the 2024 regular season schedule was heavily stacked with home games. Of the 66 games left on the schedule this year, 38 are on the road. Almost every home game this summer will be sold out or almost so due to availability and demand. With more time on the road, the Phillies will struggle to maintain their impressive.646 win percentage.

However, next season will feature a more optimal balance, which will benefit both ticket sales and players on the field. Throughout the second half of 2025, the Phillies will play 35 home games and 31 away games.

Rob Thomson particularly enjoys early west coast travel. The Phillies will travel west three times next season. Two of these stretches will occur before the All-Star break. The final one will be their penultimate regular-season road trip of the year, with three games against the Dodgers in Los Angeles and three against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Late season NL East stretch

There is an interesting cluster of games in late August-early September. From August 22 to September 10, they’ll play 17 of 20 games against NL East opponents. The distribution of division games is strange. The Phillies will begin the season with 14 NL East games in March/April, four in May, ten in June, and then no games until the aforementioned stretch starts on August 20.

How will the NL East look in 2025? The Braves and Phillies will most likely compete for first place, while the Marlins will continue to struggle. The Mets might — possibly — pose a threat if they spend heavily in the summer, and the Nationals could be on the cusp of competing again if their young players continue to develop.

Best vacation.

If you’ve ever considered treating yourself to a Phillies-themed vacation, there’s a decent chance you may do so next July on the west coast. The Phillies will play the Giants in San Francisco on July 7-9 and San Diego on July 11-13. A San Francisco trip in July may be preferable to a San Francisco trip in April or May, but the weather is usually pleasant in lovely San Diego, and there are numerous restaurants and attractions in and around Petco Park. Every Phillies fan should consider visiting San Diego at least once.
