A player who Orlando Pirates FC has been heavily associated with has extended his stay at a rival DStv Premiership team!

Velemseni Ndwandwe, a reported Orlando Pirates transfer target, has extended his contract with Golden Arrows!

The 28-year-old midfielder has been extensively linked with a move to the Bucs in recent weeks.

Ndwandwe has made over 130 appearances for KwaZulu-Natal since being promoted to the main team in 2016.

The excellent midfielder has scored 10 goals and assisted 13 others for the club. And now, sources say he’s signed a new contract deal with the club, despite speculation of a move to Orlando Pirates!

“Golden Arrows have locked down Velemseni Ndwandwe with a new contract, putting an end to reported interest from Orlando Pirates,” according to a FARPost article.

“The midfielder reportedly garnered attention from Gauteng clubs, including Pirates, last season as his contract was set to expire at the end of the previous month.”

According to Transfermarkt, Ndwandwe is worth roughly R16 million.

In other news, Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sphamandla Gumede is likely to leave the club on loan once again.

Gumede spent last season on loan with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Orbit College, having joined from Dondol Stars.

However, the SuperSport United academy graduate appears to be heading out on loan again next season!

According to the latest sources, Gumede isn’t training with the Orlando Pirates and will miss their pre-season trip to Europe!

“The former Dondol Stars keeper hasn’t been training with the Mayfair outfit, according to a close source and he won’t be traveling with the club to Spain for pre-season,” an individual informed IDiski Times.

“Information received by this publication states that he could be going out on loan once again, with the club still looking for options in the DStv Premiership and Motsepe Foundation Championship.” The magazine also claimed.
