It will be a work in progress, but there are enough returning elements to provide a solid starting 11.The front three is rather thin in depth and weight, but Soane Toia is a powerful veteran who can hold his own on the nose. This is where having a coach like Niumatalolo is really important. San Jose State should rotate the front three; he did an excellent job with that at Navy. The 3-4 system generates plenty of speed on the field, and it must cause disruption in the backfield with Ethan Powell and Taniela Latu on the outside. Jordan Pollard should be a 100-tackle force on the interior.
Even without starting experience, the secondary should be fine.
