The Buffalo Bills now have roughly 90 players on their roster, so it goes without saying that some will be removed. However, we’ve signed five players this offseason who are already likely to be released.

Brandon Beane has worked hard this offseason to revamp various areas of the Buffalo Bills roster. The Bills roster will look different than it has in recent years thanks to free agency, trades, and the draft, with perhaps two new starting safeties and added depth throughout the defensive front and linebackers. On offense, only one wide receiver on the roster has caught a regular-season ball from Josh Allen. Several new receivers were signed in free agency, including top choice Keon Coleman. However, not all of these players will make the 53-man roster. Some will join the practice squad, while others will be cut.

Only 53 of the 90 players will make the roster. Another 16 players will be added to the practice squad, and it’s likely that Beane will sign another free agent or two, or even make another deal. Time will tell, but we already have five players that could be cut.

When the Bills drafted Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, Will Clapp’s prospects of making the squad were reduced. With Connor McGovern shifting to center and Van Pran-Granger, Clapp’s spot on the 53-man roster is limited. I envision him getting cut and potentially joining the team’s practice squad. Last season with the Chargers, he played 702 snaps, committed only one penalty, and allowed a sack. However, the PFF grades were not kind, with an overall score of 56.7.
