The Houston Texans are on the rise in the AFC.

Following a fantastic 10-7 season in which Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud, Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr., and the rest of the club won the AFC South title, this team hopes to expand on that success.

They made significant moves earlier this summer, trading for All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs and signing former Pro Bowl edge-rusher Danielle Hunter.

They made one move during the NFL Draft by selecting two-time national champion cornerback Kamari Lassiter from Georgia in the second round.

Lassiter has received appreciation from a number of his teammates, notably Will Anderson Jr.

“I’ve been impressed by him. He’s electric. “He’s making plays left and right,” Anderson recently told the Houston reporters (via Aaron Wilson).

Teams will require good defensive backs in a division dominated by Michael Pittman Jr., DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, Christian Kirk, and Gabe Davis.

Lassiter may be that for the Texans.

During his time at Georgia, the All-SEC defender recorded 37 tackles, 8 pass deflections, and 3.5 tackles for loss in 2023, following back-to-back victories in 2021 and 2022.
