The Orlando Pirates will compete for all prizes available next season on both a domestic and European level.

Orlando Pirates will surely seek to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for the DStv Premiership title next season.

The Buccaneers won both the Nedbank Cup and the MTN8 last season, although they fell short in the league.

Jose Riveiro’s team finished an incredible 23 points behind champions Sundowns. And now the club understands that they will need to construct an amazing roster to fight with Rhulani Mokwena’s star-studded outfit.

The Buccaneers are finalising a number of new signings, with Thalente Wandile Mbatha topping the list.

Mbatha will not be a ‘fresh’ signing, having spent last season on loan with the club. However, Orlando Pirates are now attempting to recruit him on a permanent basis from his parent club, SuperSport United.

ORLANDO PIRATES TO KEEP MBATHA PERMANENT
“At the moment, they [Orlando Pirates] are busy talking with SuperSport United to finalise and make the deal permanent,” Mbatha’s agent Mike Makaab told FARPost.

“But the deal is going to happen. It was originally agreed upon in the original deal. The Orlando Pirates had a loan with the option to make it permanent.

In other news, Orlando Pirates’ Relebohile Mofokeng has had a remarkable journey to football glory.

Just 14 months ago, the teenager has yet to make his senior debut with the club.

Mofokeng was promoted to the Buccaneers first team at the start of last season. Mofokeng has appeared 40 times for the club since his debut in March 2023!

The Orlando Pirates prodigy has already scored six goals and assisted seven others for the club.
