This historic series, which consists of five (5) T20 matches to be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, would mark the first time a West Indies side visits Nepal.
CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe said,

“This A-team tour is a crucial step in our T20 World Cup preparations and another demonstration of the value we are placing on A-team cricket. It’s our last chance to watch many of the players who aren’t playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but are still vying for a spot in the squad. Players that are left off of the final World Cup roster will still be included in the reserve pool. The ability of reserve players to step in and make an instant impact was a defining feature of the 2016 T20 World Cup campaign, so we need to be prepared for everything. We are also excited about the chance to introduce the West Indies brand to Nepal.

We are both thrilled and humbled by the thought of the West Indies ‘A’ squad visiting Nepal. This is a pivotal time in our cricket history as we seize this amazing chance that has been given to us. It will greatly aid in our preparation for the T20 World Cup and beyond. Our ardent supporters will be thrilled about this historic journey to Nepal, a new cricketing nation quietly making its place in the world of cricket. We sincerely appreciate CWI’s belief in Nepali cricket, support, and ongoing efforts to spread the game throughout the globe. As we move forward with tremendous enthusiasm and gratitude, we hope that this will spark further bilateral cricket trips and collaborations between us and other elite cricketing nations.

The only time West Indies have played Nepal in International cricket was a One Day International at the Harare Sports Club, during the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in 2023, with the West Indies winning by 101 runs.

Co-Hosts, West Indies are in Group C in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and will face Papua New Guinea, Uganda, New Zealand, and Afghanistan, whilst Nepal is in Group D and will face the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
