Heartfelt Massage: Lane Kiffin Sends Nine-Word Message to Nick Saban After ‘College GameDay’ Comments

Nick Saban and the ESPN “College GameDay” crew were in South Bend, Indiana, for the first matchup of the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Before Notre Dame took down Indiana 27-17, Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti joined Saban and the rest of the panel on “College GameDay.”

During his time on the show, the crew highlighted the coaching lineage between Cignetti and Saban, mentioning that the Hoosiers head coach served as Alabama’s wide receiver coach from 2007 to 2010

He coached under what many believe to be the greatest of all time, Saban, who won seven national titles during his collegiate career.

While Cignetti and Saban were discussing the Notre Dame-Indiana game on “College GameDay,” another one of the members of the Saban coaching tree entered the conversation.

Lane Kiffin commented on a remark made by Saban on the show which alluded to Cignetti talking smack.

“One thing you didn’t learn from me is talking all the [expletive] you talk,” Saban said.

Kiffin then responded, agreeing with Saban’s comments.

Kiffin also spent time on the staff of the Crimson Tide, while Saban led a dynasty at Alabama. He served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Alabama from 2014 to 2016.

He is now the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, beginning his tenure with the SEC powerhouse in 2020
