Cam Seldon set to enter transfer portal
Another day, another portal entry. ‘Tis the season. Tennessee running back Cam Seldon will be next to test the transfer portal waters, moving on from a crowded backfield. Seldon was the favorite to backup Dylan Sampson this season, but an injury changed his situation in a big way.
Both DeSean Bishop and true freshman Peyton Lewis earning playing time above Seldon on the depth chart, forcing Seldon’s hand.
Seldon joins former teammate Khalifa Keith in the transfer portal. He underwent shoulder surgery in the offseason, working his way back to the field by the early part of the season. The playing time didn’t follow, however. Seldon mainly appeared on Tennessee’s special teams. He finishes with 224 career rushing yards
The former four-star prospect entered Knoxville with a lot of hype, but between the injury and last year’s loaded depth chart in front of him, his chance just never came.
Tennessee signed Duane Morris and Justin Baker in the 2025 recruiting cycle. It remains to be seen if Dylan Sampson will return or declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Assuming he does, Tennessee would roll with Bishop and Lewis atop the depth chart next season, barring a big addition from the portal.
