Curtis’ Report Card: Hogs Pass Eye Exam Once More in UCA Rout

The Razorbacks have recently begun to exhibit their potential in contests.

Arkansas’s North Little Rock — Arkansas has begun to look like a team with lofty preseason expectations after going through some early-season growing pains. The Razorbacks defeated Central Arkansas 82-57 at Simmons Bank Arena on Saturday, passing the eye test once more.

John Calipari’s squad avoided a post-Madison Square Garden letdown with a wire-to-wire victory over the Bears that featured a balanced attack — six Hogs scored in double-figures — and an efficient performance on both ends of the floor despite being down a starter in Adou Thiero due to illness.

Although all nine of Arkansas’s rotation pieces have occasionally been available, their health has not yet allowed them to play at their best. Even while there is still much space for improvement, it is difficult to dispute that the Razorbacks are beginning to make progress.

“They’re getting more comfortable in their own skin. That’s what the difference is,” Calipari said. “It’s normal for a player to try to establish who he is before you figure out your team, so he’s more concerned with himself. Didn’t it look that way early in the year?
