SO SAD: 2 major Georgia Bulldogs enter the transfer portal

2 more Georgia Bulldogs enter the transfer portal

Georgia football has not had three players enter the transfer portal on Friday.

Georgia football has had quite the day when it comes to the transfer portal. The Bulldogs are gearing up for their run in the College Football Playoff, but it’s the transfer portal that is taking center stage in college football right now.

Kirby Smart and his staff have made a lot of noise with QB offers in the portal as well as bringing some receivers in on recruiting visits, but they have also lost their fair share of players to the portal as well

Earlier on Friday, Georgia lost a young defensive back to the portal, and now Georgia is losing two more players on the defensive side of the ball

Georgia LB Troy Bowles

First up is linebacker Troy Bowles. Bowles played in three games during the 2023 season where he recorded a total of five tackles. However, coming into this season he expected to see more time, but that unfortunately did not happen as he did not play in one game this season.

Whenever that is the case, it really isn’t surprising to see that player enter the portal and look for a better opportunity where he might receive more playing time. And hopefully that is what ends up happening wherever his next stop is.

Keeping with the trend seen with players Georgia is losing to the portal so far, M’Pemba is another player who has not seen much playing time in his career at Georgia. Just like Bowles, M’Pemba did not play in a game this season either, and this was after recording six tackles in four games during the 2023 season.

So although it is never ideal seeing players leave Georgia, these two latest examples make sense from their perspective. So hopefully they are able to find a good fit at their next program, and Georgia can find guys to replace them on the depth chart.
