Nashville, Tennessee The Tennessee Titans will be represented at this week’s Senior Bowl practices in Mobile by Chad Brinker, who was recently elevated to the position of President of Football Operations, and Anthony Robinson, the Assistant General Manager. As per an insider within the franchise, prospective assistant coaches will be interviewed by Executive Vice President Ran Carthon and recently hired coach Brian Callahan when they are in Nashville. Brinker and Robinson along with the whole Titans scouting team will be in attendance for the Senior Bowl practices, which run from Tuesday through Thursday, and the game on Saturday. The NFL Network will broadcast the game on Saturday.

Amy Adams Strunk, the owner of the Tennessee Titans, has made it clear that she wants the team to work together more when making choices about player development and acquisition. After Mike Vrabel was fired as coach, Adams Strunk appointed Brian Callahan to lead the Titans in a reorganization. Additionally, the football power structure of the team was reorganized with the promotions of Ran Carthon and Chad Brinker to new positions. The new power dynamic is demonstrated by Carthon and Callahan concentrating on coaching hires while Brinker oversees the scouting of possible new Titans.

“As our league continues to evolve in areas like analytics, sports science, and technology, football organizations have become more complex and multifaceted.

As organizations continue to discover new ways to get a competitive edge, I want our football program to be at the vanguard of the NFL,” Adams Strunk stated in a release. Carthon’s expanded responsibilities include managing every department that has an effect on the football club, including scouting, player engagement, sports medicine, roster control, team activities, personnel decisions (including draft and free agency acquisitions), and the supervision of Callahan and his coaching staff. Brinker is in charge of several football departments, including those that handle salary cap management, communications and information systems, analytics and planning, and team operations including groundskeeping, security, and video. Brinker will also keep using scouting to assess talent in the NFL and in college.

“In this new role, Chad will blend his executive experience with his strengths in football and scouting to ensure our football operation continues to innovate and grow as new opportunities emerge,” said Adams Strunk. “Chad’s oversight of these areas will allow Ran to focus his full attention and energy on building and leading a championship football team.” Running back Tyjae Spears and cornerback Roger McCreary are two recent examples of the kind of athletes the Titans have found in the Senior Bowl.

Most draft boards expect the Titans to select either Penn State tackle Olu Fashanu or Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt with the No.7 pick in this year’s NFL Draft. Neither of those players are expected to be at the Senior Bowl, but several others the Titans could pick with the 38th selection in the second round will be there.

Terrell Williams, the associate head coach of the Titans and defensive line coach, is leading the American squad in the Senior Bowl. Williams will spend a lot of time with the players, so the team may gain additional insight into their character.
