JUST IN: A highly skilled player has revealed a contract extension with Kentucky Wesleyan..

A highly skilled player officially signed his letter of intent on Friday to continue his football career as a wide receiver at Kentucky Wesleyan College. The senior led the team with 857 receiving yards this past season, along with five touchdowns, contributing to the Blue Tornado’s state championship win.

“I feel great. I’m excited to move on to the next level and start performing again. This marks the beginning of a new journey,” Perry shared. “I broke my wrist before my senior year, so I couldn’t attend any camps, but colleges had been talking to me since my sophomore year, and I received a few offers this year.”

When asked why he chose Kentucky Wesleyan, Perry highlighted the consistent presence of the coaches and scouts throughout his recruiting process.

“They were always there, staying in touch with me throughout the entire process from the start.” Another key factor in his decision was the opportunity to join his long-time teammate and close friend, Josh Campbell, who also signed with Kentucky Wesleyan the previous week.

“It’s awesome. He’s been my best friend since I moved here, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We’re like brothers. I can’t wait to work with him and challenge each other at the next level.”

Tilghman head coach Sean Thompson added, “Both of these players have been essential to our team for a long time. We knew they’d have opportunities, but it was about choosing the right fit. For them to continue their careers together at the next level is a special moment, as they are best friends.”

DJ Perry has left a lasting legacy on the Blue Tornado football program. His hard work and accomplishments extend far beyond the stats, having made a significant impact on his community. His success will continue at the collegiate level, with his best friend by his side.
