JUST IN: UW Huskies Land Commitment From Another Physically Gifted Transfer in Blockbuster Shakeup

Danny Sprinkle continues to finalize the Washington men’s basketball roster for the 2025–26 season, with the latest addition being a Florida State transfer, who announced his commitment on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-11 freshman forward, known for his length and upside, saw limited action in his first collegiate season. He averaged 1.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 6.9 minutes per game for the Seminoles, mostly in a reserve role.

He is just 19 years old, hails from Whitby, Ontario, and was considered one of Canada’s premier basketball prospects in the 2023 recruiting class. Originally committed to Indiana State, he shifted to Florida State after Sycamores coach Josh Schertz took the job at Saint Louis.

His role with the Huskies this coming season remains uncertain, and while his presence adds depth to the frontcourt, it doesn’t directly compensate for the departure of McDonald’s All-American forward Niko Bundalo, who requested his release from Washington two weeks ago.

Still, he joins a frontcourt group that already features solid talent in Franck Kepnang, Jacob Ognacevic, Lathan Sommerville, Mady Traore, and Hannes Steinbach — a unit that gives Washington both depth and versatility in the paint.

Christian Nitu is now part of a highly regarded transfer class for the Huskies, who have added six players from Division I programs: Wesley Yates III, Quimari Peterson, Bryson Tucker, Ognacevic, Sommerville, and now Nitu. That transfer haul is ranked 13th nationally by 247Sports.

Washington’s overall 2025 recruiting class is also turning heads, ranking 18th in the nation. It includes four-star guards JJ Mandaquit, Courtland Muldrew, and Jasir Rencher, along with JUCO transfer Traore and international recruit Steinbach.

The Huskies currently have 13 scholarship players on the roster, two short of the NCAA’s updated 15-player cap, leaving room for additional moves if Sprinkle sees fit.

Note: Former Washington guard Tyler Harris has officially signed with Vanderbilt, continuing his collegiate career in the SEC.
