The Golden State Warriors are back on the road Thursday night to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series.
Golden State took a 1-0 series lead on Tuesday with a strong team performance, highlighted by standout games from Jimmy Butler, Buddy Hield, and Draymond Green. Their defensive effort also played a key role in overpowering Minnesota.
Following their Game 1 victory, the Warriors now aim to seize a 2-0 series advantage before returning home to San Francisco for Game 3 on Saturday.
However, they’ll be without star point guard Stephen Curry, who left Tuesday’s game early in the second quarter due to a left hamstring injury. An MRI revealed a Grade 1 strain, sidelining Curry for at least a week. He is unlikely to return before Game 6, depending on his recovery progress.
In Curry’s absence, Gary Payton II may step into the starting lineup. The Warriors will lean heavily on Butler, Green, and the rest of the squad to maintain momentum and secure another win.

Aside from Curry, Golden State has no other injury concerns heading into Game 2, which is a positive sign. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are also mostly healthy, with only Rob Dillingham listed as out.
Game 2 of the Warriors-Timberwolves series tips off Thursday at 8:30 p.m. EST on TNT.
