That seemed to be the case for a Kings All-Star who was reportedly enjoying a quiet evening at a sushi restaurant—until things took a turn when a fan approached him and disrupted his peace, leading to a heated confrontation.
A video of the incident surfaced, showing a tense exchange between the star and the individual, which escalated into a physical altercation. At one point, he can be seen grabbing the legs of a man who was on the restaurant floor.
The man involved later shared his version of events on social media, posting a clip of the incident with the caption: “I just got attacked & body slapped by DeMar DeRozan. Don’t Meet Your Hero’s Kids : I Don’t think [Drake] will like this behavior. I think Drake won the Rap Battle.”
His post suggested that DeRozan was the aggressor, but eyewitness accounts indicate otherwise. According to initial reports, DeRozan was simply minding his own business when the man approached and began bothering him, triggering the confrontation.
The matter is currently being investigated by local authorities, with Sgt. Brandon Painter of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirming that an inquiry into the altercation is underway.
