Trade rumors are swirling around a Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, with speculation he could be on the move to the Buffalo Bills during the upcoming NFL Draft. Multiple reports indicate that the Bills, desperate for another offensive weapon, may explore a trade for the incredible receiver. While Buffalo remains open to re-signing Amari Cooper, acquiring Addison could alter those plans significantly.
He is a former USC standout, was a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and has since established himself as a dynamic playmaker alongside Justin Jefferson. However, with his eligibility for a contract extension approaching after the upcoming season, the Vikings must make a long-term decision regarding his future. The team already invested heavily in Jefferson, signing him to a record-breaking deal last offseason. Given salary cap constraints, retaining him alongside Jefferson could prove difficult.
Despite being only two seasons into his career, Jordan Addison has already proven to be one of Minnesota’s top receiving threats, tallying 875 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. However, he entered the league with some off-field concerns, including connections to the fatal accident involving Khyree Jackson and a past citation for reckless driving and speeding.
While it would be surprising to see the Vikings move on from Addison this early in his career, the team may consider a trade if the right offer—potentially a first-round pick—comes along. Other teams, however, could complicate matters by entering the race for the talented young wideout.
Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints Could Disrupt Addison Trade Talks
Chiefs Looking for a Reinforcement at Receiver
The Kansas City Chiefs are facing uncertainty in their wide receiver corps after losing DeAndre Hopkins to the Baltimore Ravens. While they may bring back Marquise Brown, it would likely be on a short-term basis. Their current receiving options—rookies Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice—could have long-term potential, but off-field concerns could jeopardize their roles.
Addison, despite his own legal troubles in the past, presents an intriguing option for the Chiefs. Kansas City has consistently found ways to manage player issues while maintaining its dominance, reaching the Super Bowl three consecutive times. If Worthy or Rice faces suspension or struggles to make an impact, Addison could provide a much-needed boost to their offense.
Chris Olave’s Future with the Saints in Doubt
Another name circulating in trade discussions is New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave. Following a season-ending injury, Olave’s status with the team remains uncertain. With the Saints heading toward a potential rebuild under new head coach Kellen Moore and quarterback Derek Carr failing to impress, Olave might seek a fresh start elsewhere.
If New Orleans decides to move on from Olave, they could shift their focus toward Addison as a replacement. Pairing him with Rashid Shaheed and veteran Brandin Cooks would help maintain offensive firepower while giving the Saints a younger option to build around.
Addison’s Future Remains Uncertain
While the Vikings have yet to indicate their willingness to part with Addison, they must weigh their options carefully. If Minnesota isn’t confident in their ability to re-sign him long-term, trading him now while his value remains high could be the best course of action.
With multiple teams potentially vying for his services, the decision won’t be straightforward. Whether he lands in Buffalo, Kansas City, or New Orleans, Addison could soon find himself in a new uniform, playing a key role in a different offensive system.
