Earlier Friday, the Titans interviewed Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan for the role.

Jaguars set to interview Titans assistant Chris Harris for DC position.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are considering another Tennessee Titans assistant for the defensive coordinator position.

According to Fox Sports’ Ben Arthur, the Jaguars plan to interview Titans passing game coordinator and cornerbacks coach Chris Harris. The Jaguars will also interview Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen, bringing the total number of former Mike Vrabel staff members interviewed to two.

The Jaguars are searching for a new defensive coordinator after firing Mike Caldwell on Monday night. The Jaguars also sacked seven additional defensive assistants, leaving only three of Pederson’s 11 defensive staff members behind.

The Jacksonville Jaguars concluded the 2023 season ranked 17th in points per game, 22nd in yards per game, 13th in EPA/Play allowed, and 12th in Success Rate allowed.

Harris, an eight-year veteran who played defensive back for the Jaguars in 2012, is a well-known defensive backs coach in football circles and was regarded as a promising defensive coordinator prospect entering 2023.

Harris worked as a defensive quality control coach for the Chicago Bears in 2013 and 2014 before being released by John Fox in 2015. He was then hired by the Chargers in 2016, where he served as an assistant defensive backs coach for four seasons.

In 2020, Harris was hired as defensive backs coach by the Washington Commanders, where he spent the next four seasons supervising a vital component of Ron Rivera’s defense. He was later employed by the Titans in 2023, which resulted in his elevated title.
