College football injury report: Ohio State loses Seth McLaughlin, Ole Miss expects Week 13 Tre Harris return

Offensive line concerns grew louder at Ohio State this week when starting center Seth McLaughlin reportedly tore his Achilles tendon, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season and putting the Buckeyes in an even more precarious position in the trenches. The litany of injuries on the offensive line continue to pile up, and they come at an inopportune time with one of the biggest games of the Big Ten season on deck — a top-five showdown with Indiana.

The Ohio State-Indiana battle is one of three top-25 clashes this week, all of which have massive College Football Playoff implications.

Hardly any teams in the nation are at full strength this deep into the season, and those critical matchups feature high-profile injuries that could play a key role in determining which teams get into the postseason field and which ones watch the race for the national championship unfold from home

The McLaughlin injury is the latest blow to an Ohio State offensive line that is effectively in shambles. With two starters out, fill-in starter Zen Michalski in question after missing each of the last three games and multiple players forced to move into new positions, the Buckeyes’ blocking scheme could hit serious bumps in the road as the program moves toward national championship contention. More positive developments hit the receiving corps, though, where Ryan Day is hopeful to have tight end Will Kacmarek back in the lineup and where star freshman wideout Jeremiah Smith is “good to go” after an ankle twist.
