Arsenal forward could miss Manchester United fixture because of Premier League rule
Gabriel Jesus is facing the threat of being forced to serve a one-match suspension for Arsenal.
The Brazilian forward has made 10 Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season and while he’s yet to score a goal, remains an important player for Mikel Arteta’s side. He has also struggled with injuries during his time in north London, most recently suffering a groin injury which kept him on the sidelines for a couple of weeks
Jesus was handed a rare start in the 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest and picked up a booking in the 30th minute for a foul. It was his fourth yellow card of the season and means that the 27-year-old now faces the risk of being suspended for one match if he gets booked again
According to Premier League rules, a player who accumulates five yellow cards within their team’s first 19 matches is subject to a one-match ban. Another booking before Arsenal’s 19th league game will result in a suspension for Jesus.
Arteta’s side travel to the London Stadium on Saturday where they will face West Ham, before hosting Manchester United at Emirates Stadium on December
