Juice Cryer injury update: FSU football linebacker carted off field after leg injury vs UNC

Florida State linebacker Justin Cryer was injured during the game against North Carolina.

Cryer was caught up in a goal-line pile as UNC running back Omarion Hampton tried to dive for a touchdown with 3:05 left in the third quarter. He was seen lying on the field after the play

A cart came out to take the sophomore, known as “Juice,” to the locker room. The Seminoles team came to wish him well. Trainers put an air cast around his right leg as he was taken off the field.

Justin Cryer injury update

North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton ran up the middle near the goal line on third-and-goal with 3:05 left in the third quarter. After the pileup, Justin Cryer remained on the field in pain.

Cryer remained on the ground for several minutes as the training staff attended to his injured left leg. ACC Network sideline reporter Coley Harvey said trainers were rubbing and flexing his lower leg, and he was eventually put into a black air cast and put on a cart to go off to get treatment.

UNC scored a touchdown on the following play, giving them a 28-11 lead.

Juice Cryer is one of FSU’s starting linebackers. The 6-foot-1, 232-pounder is sixth on the team with 29 tackles and has two tackles for loss. The sophomore from Katy, Texas has an interception Sept. 14 against Memphis and a fumble recovery Sept. 28 at SMU.

Cryer played in 13 games in the 2023 season, making 12 tackles, including six in the Orange Bowl loss to Georgia.
