South Carolina football loses the only tight end commit in the Class of 2025
South Carolina loses a Class of 2025 recruit, their only tight end recruit in that class.
South Carolina’s 2025 recruiting class has now lost a commitment just days before their biggest game of the season. Three-star Tight end Preston Douglas committed to South Carolina back in June and announced on Halloween that he would be flipping his commitment from the Gamecocks to NC State.
This doesn’t necessarily come as the biggest hit to the Class of 2025 as that class already has 20 commits, and 5 of them are wide receivers. The only thing it does mean is that the Gamecocks now don’t have any tight-end commits in that class.
The 6-foot-3 Florida native plays both ways with the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, and in his senior year has racked up 16 receptions for 225 yards and three touchdowns and 11 tackles and three sacks on defense.
The good news for South Carolina is that they haven’t lost a lot of commits for this class and he is just the third player to flip his commitment in the last few months. He joins four-star cornerback Shamari Earls who flipped to Georgia and three-star linebacker Jaiden Baker who flipped to LSU as the only guys to flip their commitments.
Head coach Shane Beamer was out on the recruiting trail during the bye week, so hopefully, he was able to find at least one tight end to join the 2025 recruiting class or see if he can try and flip a commit to the Gamecocks
The Gamecocks are set to take on Texas A&M this weekend and will be hosting potential recruits for both the Class of 2025 and the Class of 2026
