The Wales captain will not play for the Bluebirds after suffering an injury while on international duty.

Cardiff City have been hit with a big injury blow ahead of their trip to Derby County as Aaron Ramsey was ruled out of the meeting at Pride Park.

Due to a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Wales on the international stage, Erol Bulut’s team will not have the midfielder when they take on Paul Warne’s team this coming Sunday (3pm).

No timescale has been put on Ramsey’s return but Bulut confirmed today that he will not be included in the squad. It is the latest injury blow for the ex-Arsenal midfielder who missed a large chunk of last season with a knee problem.

Bulut remarked, “We will miss him for Derby.” “He played 20 minutes in the last national game (against Montenegro) and felt a slight hamstring strain; for that reason, he will need to take a little while to recover.

“Hopefully, it’s not a major issue. I only found out that he played in the national game and that he was experiencing hamstring strain from our medical personnel. He won’t be with us on Saturday, so we’ll have to wait to hear the whole story.”

Bulut received better news on Joe Walls, as the captain of the Bluebirds was expected to be available.
“Joe Ralls trained with us and he will be available,” Bulut said. “Rallsy is the captain of the team and a leader on the field and also off the field. It’s always good to have him in the team.
“He missed games because of his hip and groin injuries. Right now he trained fully with us and I hope nothing will happen before Saturday.”
