Randy Gregory, the Bucs’ outside linebacker signed this year to assist develop young pass rushers like Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, YaYa Diaby, and Chris Braswell, has been missing since signing his contract this spring.

He skipped all spring practices, required minicamp, and appears to have yet to arrive at One Buc Palace, despite the fact that veterans were expected to report to training camp today.

As a result, Gregory was added to the Buccaneers’ Reserve/Did Not Report list today.

The official definition of Reserve/Did Not Report List on NFL.com states that it is for players who have quit. Here’s the definition:

Reserve/Did Not Report (left team): Players who have left their team or stopped playing NFL football but have yet to file their retirement papers. This player does not count toward a team’s roster restriction or salary cap.

So Gregory quit? Imagine that.

If this is a harbinger to the Bucs washing their hands of the person, that’s great. Joe couldn’t believe Tampa Bay had signed Gregory in the first place. He sued the Bengals last summer for about $500,000, claiming discrimination, primarily because the Bengals wouldn’t let him pull bongs.

If Gregory quit on the Bucs, that’s OK. That signifies he is no longer present. Joe will wait for confirmation.

Joe always thought Gregory was the last person you wanted in the Bucs locker room, given the excellent collection of young defenders. Can you pronounce “Swaggy Baker” and “DeSean Cancer?” How did it turn out?

Last week, Bucs coach Todd Bowles told the “Sick Podcast” that he hadn’t spoken with Gregory and was unsure whether he would show up for training camp.

Gregory had fewer output over the last three seasons than JTS. Hello (hopefully).
