However, with McNutt’s pledge approaching, Oregon appears to be the team to beat. Every expert forecast from 247Sports and On3 has McNutt joining the Ducks. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Model likewise gives Oregon a 93.2% chance of acquiring McNutt.

The Buckeyes, who boast the nation’s top 2025 class, have received five pledges from 2025 defensive backs.

Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord, both five-star cornerbacks, are among the class’s brightest prospects. Faheem Delane, a four-star safety prospect, is the highest-rated commit.

What about Ohio State legend Jayson Tatum?
Jayson Tatum has become an NBA star during his tenure with the Boston Celtics, which began in 2017 with his draft from Duke. Tatum’s career path, however, was not what he had envisioned in fourth grade.

Tatum posted an essay he penned as a child on his Instagram story this week.

“Twenty years from now, I will have attended one year at Ohio State University, where I will meet Kristen,” he wrote. “She will have attended Ohio State Law School when I am in the NBA.”

He went on to discuss his two children, the sports they would play, and his eventual career with the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.

Things evidently haven’t gone as planned. Tatum played one season with the Blue Devils (2016-17) before declaring for the NBA Draft.

Tatum won his first NBA championship this season, his eighth with the Celtics, and is a member of Team USA’s quest for gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
