Carey Price, for example, is accompanied by a large number of people when training. After all, you should offer yourself every possibility of success.
Jean-François Gaudreau was among those who gathered around the former goalkeeper. We’re talking about a physical trainer who has worked with a number of people, including Carey and Angela Price, Georges St-Pierre, and Olivier Aubin-Mercier.
So he was well-known.
However, Jean-François Gaudreau is currently in jeopardy following the collapse of the South Shore’s XPN training center in 2023.
Why is this happening?
Because some players linked with him (Carey Price was not, despite the fact that the two men worked together) are suing for $1 million to $100,000 in punitive damages.
Mathieu Boulay of the Journal de Montréal reports.
Centre XPN Rive-Sud declares bankruptcy: players, notably field hockey player Nicolas Deslauriers, suing their former partner – Mathieu Boulay, Journal de Montréal.
Gaudreau is suspected, according to JdeM, of falsifying some signatures to get access to papers, as well as concealing financial information
Nicolas Deslauriers, Patrick Côté, Maxim Noreau, and Kuno Wittmer are among those who criticize Jean-François Gaudreau. The four guys have put money in his center, but they believe the conditions under which they invested are not realistic.
The XPN business model has never been successful for anyone other than JFG and Gaudreau. – Excerpt of the lawsuit against Jean-François Gaudreau
Zach Fucale did not invest any money, but he claims Gaudreau is exploiting his name without his permission. It just goes to prove that many people are against him.
We further notice that the center was closed without the local shareholders’ approval. They only found out what was going on after everything had already transpired.
We’ll see how far this goes, but at this time, Price should be unaffected. The Habs veteran collaborated with Gaudreau but was not linked with him.
However, seeing Price’s name attached with the case demonstrates that Gaudreau had a strong reputation and worked with some of the best athletes on the South Shore. Price would not have hired him if he hadn’t been competent.
At this moment, the question is whether the athletes linked with him will receive justice in the future, or if they will have squandered their money and time. Cases like this can often take a long time to resolve.
