It’s time for another round of NHL rumors. We’re in the thick of the offseason, but there’s still plenty to talk about. General managers are still figuring out how to use their salary cap space and fine-tune their rosters. Following the initial free agent excitement, little has changed. However, there is always something going on on the hot stove. The New York Rangers are attempting to return to the Stanley Cup Final. This installment of NHL rumors examines the status of one of their key defensemen.
Analysis: Trouba has a $8 million cap hit that the Rangers and General Manager Chris Drury are attempting to unload. However, the 30-year-old has a modified no-trade clause with 15 teams. New York was looking to see if anyone was interested in getting his pay off the books.
Several organizations, including the Detroit Red Wings and Buffalo Sabres, have been mentioned as potential landing locations. However, nothing has resulted from this. Some speculated that Trouba might join the Red Wings, but that did not happen.

Trouba is completely within his rights to block a trade to a team on his no-move list. This is part of the terms.
