The Shanghai Sharks will travel Australia next month to play preseason games against the Illawarra Hawks and Brisbane Bullets.
The Sharks will play the Hawks on Saturday, August 17th, at the Snakepit in Wollongong, offering Illawarra fans their first chance to see the NBL25 version of their favourite team.
Shanghai will then fly to Brisbane to face the Bullets on Friday, August 23, at Nissan Arena.
Both clubs and the NBL expressed excitement about facing the Sharks.

“We have an excellent relationship with the worldwide basketball community, including the CBA, and those relationships are critical to the NBL’s continuing success,” said NBL COO and Head of Basketball Operations Vince Crivelli.
“Our two leagues’ collaboration is growing stronger by the day, and this preseason game is a fantastic step toward expanding basketball in Australia and Asia.

“I’d like to thank the Shanghai Sharks, Illawarra Hawks, Brisbane Bullets, and the CBA for their support, and we’re looking forward to what promises to be an exciting game in August.”

“We’re pleased to have such excellent international competition in Wollongong next month,” Hawks CEO Stu Taggart said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to evaluate our preparations for the upcoming season, as well as for Hawks members and fans to see the revitalized Hawks lineup and enjoy international basketball on the Hawks’ traditional home floor.”

“We are delighted to welcome the Shanghai Sharks to Brisbane for this exciting pre-season clash,” Brisbane Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts said.
“Queensland’s long-standing Sister State relationship with the Municipality of Shanghai provides an extra dimension of significance to this event, demonstrating the cultural and sporting links between our areas.”

The Shanghai Sharks have a long history of participating in the Chinese Basketball Association and boast top-tier talent such as international representatives Wang Zhelin, Xie Liyongwei, and Zheng Liu.
