The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2024 will be officially inducted on August 3.
With less than a month until the annual ceremony in Canton, Ohio, we look at which athletes — past and current — from the league’s 32 teams we believe will one day get a comparable award.
Here are three Baltimore Ravens who should achieve football immortality:
Terrell Suggs, a 17-year NFL veteran, is on the Ravens’ short list of potential first-ballot Hall of Famers in 2025, among former offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden, linebacker Ray Lewis, and safety Ed Reed.
With 139 sacks, he is tenth on the all-time list, and the seven players ahead of him and seven behind him are already Hall of Famers.
Suggs has more than just statistics to support his point. He won two Super Bowls (XLVII and LIV) and was voted the 2011 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, 2003 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, and seven-time Pro Bowler.
Guard Marshal Yanda
Yanda, like Suggs, could join Baltimore’s rare group of first-ballot Hall of Famers next year.
Yanda was one of the top offensive linemen in the NFL throughout his 13-year career. He was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team in 2010 and won eight Pro Bowls in the final nine years of his career (every year he was healthy).
The two-time first-team All-Pro and five-time second-team All-Pro also contributed to the Ravens’ 2012 Super Bowl win.
Yanda may have to wait longer than he should, as guards normally have to wait a few years before becoming enshrined, but his turn will come sooner than later.
Kicker Justin Tucker
Tucker, who is entering his 13th season in the league, still has time until his bust goes to Canton.
He is on track to conclude his career as the most accurate kicker in NFL history. Tucker presently owns two NFL records: the longest NFL field goal (66 yards) and the highest career field goal percentage (90.2).
Tucker will continue to climb the all-time scoring list, where he now ranks 22nd with 1,649 points.
The 34-year-old has averaged around 137 points per season. If that holds true in 2024, he will be the 15th all-time scorer at the end of the season, with 1,786 points.
Tucker’s 2024 season is unlikely to be his last.
